Her award-winning historical fantasy series, The Books of the Wode, is BIG. It's also “a complex, meticulously researched, and vividly realised re-imagining of the Robin Hood myth", with its innovative re-imagining of the notorious outlaw archer as a queer, chaotic-neutral druid.

Given a heritage of forest-dwelling peoples--Choctaw, Chickasaw, and Scots-Irish, her decision to make a home base in NW Washington State was a no-brainer.  There JTH co-exists with her long-suffering, longstanding Amazing Spouse, a pair of equine freeloaders on retirement pensions, a wolfhound who alternates between leaping over the sofa and snoozing on it...
