J Tullos Hennig

Author of Speculative & Historical Fiction

With an inveterate fascination in other worlds and times, J Tullos Hennig has managed a few lifetime professions in this world–equestrian, artist, dancer–but has never successfully managed to not be a writer. Ever.

In 2018, she was awarded the Speculative Literature Foundation's Older Writers Grant. Her most recent work is a darkly magical, award-winning historical fantasy series re-imagining the legends of Robin Hood, in which both pagan and queer viewpoints are given respectful voice. A lifelong passion for history and myth is given its due with The Books of the Wode.

LONG BIO:

Jeanine Tullos Hennig has always possessed inveterate fascination in the myths and histories of other worlds and times. Despite having maintained a few professions in this world—equestrian, dancer, teacher, artist—she has never successfully managed to not be a storyteller. Ever.

Active in conventions and genre literature in the 70s/80s/90s, Jeanine returned to the fold five years ago with the publication of an award-winning series of historical fantasy novels. The Books of the Wode re-imagines the Robin Hood legends in a truly new way, with especial emphasis on queer and pagan perspectives. The finale of the series is due to release in 2020. Jeanine is also recipient of the 2018 Speculative Literature Foundation's Older Writers Grant.

Given a heritage of forest-dwelling peoples--Choctaw, Chickasaw, and Scots-Irish, the decision to make a home base in NW Washington State was a no-brainer.  There Jeanine co-exists with her long-suffering and longstanding Amazing Spouse, a pair of equine freeloaders on retirement pensions, a wolfhound who alternates between leaping over the sofa and snoozing on it...

As well as a press gang of invisible 'friends' Who Will Not Be Silenced.
